In a town struck by insecurity and economic problems, where survival becomes a daily struggle, some refuse to give in to chaos. In Carrefour, a city plunged into the spiral of violence that eats away at all signs of life, Pierry Denejour embodies this spirit of resistance.
Aged around thirty, the native of Port-au-Prince is not only a merchant. The only son of Evena Denejour – a "Marijàn" whose name he proudly bears –, the entrepreneur has transformed his love for art into a passion that lights up his life. A collector of paintings on canvas, he is also the founder of DEP-ARTS Production Multi-Services, a company he launched on December 2, 2018, which is now celebrating six years of active presence in the Carrefour community.
Specializing in the sale of electronic equipment, MonCash and NatCash services among others, DEP-ARTS has built a solid reputation in six years. But beyond its commercial activities, it is through its ability to establish relationships of trust and support community initiatives that Pierry has established itself as a key player in its community. Under his leadership, DEP-ARTS is much more than a company: it is a symbol of hope in a town in search of renewal.

As a child, Pierry was already immersed in the world of commerce. His mother, a fighter and entrepreneur at heart, ran a small shop. "I grew up in an atmosphere of buying and reselling, and even when I was young, I bought toys to resell to other children," he remembers. However, it was only at university, where he studied accounting, that he truly discovered the concept of entrepreneurship and decided to make it his path.
Pierry started his business with modest means. The means we have at our disposal, as they say in Haiti. "I rented a space for my business, and on the first day, I only earned 25 gourdes for the whole day," he says. Added to this was the difficulty of raising funds. He remembers a cousin who lent him money, only to ask him to repay it in a hurry. These experiences shaped his character and strengthened his determination to succeed.
What sets DEP-ARTS apart from other companies is the close relationship that Pierry maintains with its customers. “We prioritize proximity and trust with our customers,” he explains. The company does not limit itself to its commercial activity: it also supports community initiatives such as artistic evenings and sports competitions. DEP-ARTS even founded its own football team, DEP-ARTS FC, a symbol of its commitment to the youth of Carrefour.
The CEO of DEP-ARTS does not intend to stop there. In five to ten years, he aims to expand his services and open several branches in other locations. "I want to offer more job opportunities to young people," he says with conviction.
For the entrepreneur, success is based above all on the ability to start, even with limited means. "The best way to start is with what you have. The ideal time is now. Take the first step, and the resources will come along the way," he advises those who dream of starting their own business.
Despite the demands of work, the lover of painting on canvas, strives to maintain a balance between his professional and personal life. A kizomba dancer in his spare time, he finds in this activity an escape from stress. He also devotes time to his partner during movie or pizza nights, simple but precious moments.
If Pierry has become the entrepreneur he is today, it is largely thanks to the example of his mother. "She was my role model and my greatest source of motivation," he confides with emotion. His determination to overcome obstacles, whether economic or personal, is a living tribute to the legacy she left him.
In a town that is struggling to recover and where entrepreneurship is a major challenge, Pierry Denejour embodies hope and determination. With DEP-ARTS, the committed entrepreneur does not just build a business, he builds a bridge between his dream and the needs of his community. And that’s just the beginning!

The Francophone Youth Parliament (PFJ) is an entity of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (APF), which itself is part of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF). Established in 1999 during the Moncton Summit in Canada, this parliament for Francophone youth provides a genuine opportunity to forge connections among young people from the Francophone world. This real platform for debate and advocacy allows young people to have their voices heard and actively participate in shaping the future of La Francophonie. The body meets sequentially, with young people from almost all Francophone backgrounds gathering at each edition to discuss contemporary issues affecting global youth, such as precariousness, a lack of faith in democracy, characterized by a high number of young people abstaining from elections, a lack of civic engagement, the fight against inequalities, climate change, and even the impact of social media on youth. It is important to note that although the decisions made during these meetings are not legally binding, they remain powerful tools to describe the real will and needs of youth in the Francophone space, with the aim of facilitating actions by leaders.
Haïti is a true powerhouse in today’s literary world. For centuries, the country has been endowed with remarkable intellectual wealth that has led to exceptional achievements. Today, with more than 20 major active writers, whose works resonate far beyond Haitian borders, Haïti is one of the countries with the highest number of writers per capita. Among these writers, we can mention Edwige Danticat, Pulitzer Prize winner; Louis-Philippe d’Alambert, Goncourt Prize for Poetry in 2024; René Depestre, Goncourt Prize for Novels in 1982; Dany Laferrière, Renaudot Prize winner and member of the French Academy; Lyonel Trouillot and Frankétienne, globally known for their works; not to forget the current star of Haitian literature, finalist of the 2022 Goncourt Prize with his masterpiece Une somme humaine, referring to Makenzy Orcel. These names stand alongside legendary figures such as Jacques Roumain, Anténor Firmin, Jacques Stéphen Alexis, and Oswald Durant, forming significant marks on world culture through their writings. Today, this literary tradition continues to nourish new talents, but one problem persists: the absence of serious and well-structured Haitian publishing houses in sufficient quantity to support these young authors.

Edison Juste is the youngest. Between the diplomat, the lawyer, and the entrepreneur that he is, singing remains his greatest passion for this young married man. Like many Haitian singers, Edison Juste took his first steps at a very early age in a choir—Yahvé Shama—alongside children his own age. He would later become the lead singer. This was in 2010. Asked about his first real encounter with music, he replied: q~It was in 2013 that I really started singing. It was during a competition organized by Styl Doz at the Évangélique de la Grâce church,~q, says the active member of the group YES (Yon Enstriman Sen), who also expresses his gratitude to singer Joseph Rhousteau, who inspired and coached him for several years. Edison Juste stands out not only for his style, but also for his versatility. His ability to make the notes vibrate with a moving candor seems limitless. Yet, he has his preferences: q~There isn’t a single style that characterizes me. I see myself as a liquid: I take the shape of the container. Even if I remain haunted by Worship, Compass, and Jazz, he confides. Today, the Carrefour native boasts a rich and varied musical repertoire. From 2010 to 2025, he has grown both in maturity and in renown: five competition wins, his first song recorded in 2018, joining the band YES, his participation in the second album, Se pou m beni, a collaboration with Amos César in a musical, and his contribution to the album Anprent by maestro Berwin Sydney. For him, this journey is already a great source of inspiration. Edison Juste never does without the presence of God, whether in the creative process or during his stage performances: "What influences and motivates me the most is always the presence of Elohim, and the audience’s desire to savor and appreciate my work," he says.
